Back out. Yeah!
May 8th - 11, 2014
Heading to Moab to ride the razor with friends. First trip out this season. And the first time half of the group we ride with has been to Moab, Ut. So we will try to take it easy one them, hehe.
Everyone got there late Friday afternoon so it was just sit around the fire and enjoy each others company. We have not been out since last October. The weather is cool and wet. But yeah, it is the first part of spring.
Saturday we did the Metal Masher trail. Fun trail, but omg it is rough. We did this trail last October and it was not this rough. Oh but hubby does like a challenge.
I was suffering from a really bad headache so we went back to the motorhome, while the rest of the group went on to the Gold Bar Rim trail. I told DH he could go without me but he was such a sweetheart and stayed with me at camp. The group said it was a great trail and really enjoyed themselves until a rock got my brother-in-laws brand new 1000 XP Razor. The rock took out his front axle. Glad we stayed at camp. They did get it back and had a great time. The weather was not the best. Cold and rainy. However it did not matter to us, we still enjoyed the trip.
Sunday was cold and rainy. But it was ok as everyone was heading home that day. Well everyone but us. Yes the plan was to go home with the group and stay until Sunday and head back down to the Ralley on the Rocks. But we are retire and do not have to so we stayed. And why go home for 10 days only to come back down to San Refael Swell to ride during Memorial Day weekend with great friends.
The Ralley on the Rocks starts May 13 and contiunes until May 15, so we will do the ralley while we are here. This ralley is a lot of fun. It is a rally for side by sides. This year they had over 600 participants. The ralley has guided trips, so if you are not sure where to ride and want to learn the trails with help this is the way to go. But sign up early, we were limited to our choices due to signing up so late and the BLM has made a new rule for this ralley, of no more than 25 riders for each trail.
Wednesday we did Chicken's Corner. This trail is a beautiful trail and very easy. Like a Sunday drive. Thursday was Fins and Things. This is one of my favorite trails. It pretty country, some chanellges and the fins are so much fun to ride. Friday it was a down day, and could not find a trail we wanted to do. Besides we ad been riding for 7 days now and a break was in order seeing we were moving in a couple of days to met up with gang and ride some more.
It is just a hang out time and relax for a few days.
